Tom Bestwick and Rebecca Peel

Two of Hallam’s digital PRs have contributed to this book. They are Tom Bestwick and Rebecca Peel.


Tom Bestwick is a Digital PR specialist at Hallam, the EU Search Awards’ Best Large Integrated Agency for 2020, and Google’s top-performing digital marketing agency for (EMEA) Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.


Rebecca has recently moved to a different PR agency, but both are a credit to the communications profession.

Like the previous six generations of his family Martin began his career in coal mining.

Starting as an apprentice and rising through the ranks to Electrical Engineer.


After 14 years in mining Martin left to join the family business, Lindhurst Engineering in 1996, as Technical Director. Becoming Managing Director is 1999.


With a strong passion for innovation and a reputation for taking on challenging projects Martin was awarded an MBE in 2016 for services to Innovation & Business.

When Cheryl and Rory met on their first date they sat chatting over gin cocktails.


They could never have envisaged where that mutual appreciation of this iconic spirit would take them just a few years later.


Tinkering with steeping a few locally sourced botanicals soon progressed to a little 5 litre copper still in their kitchen.

Tom was a runner-up in the business category of the 2020 British Journalism Awards, and in any spare time enjoys running, hiking and afternoons in the pub.
